BISMARCK - A North Dakota Lottery winner has chosen to donate her winnings to a friend in need, lottery officials announced Friday.
The player - who wanted to remain anonymous - won $5,000 on Dec. 15.
She chose to give most of her prize to a friend struggling to pay medical bills following a recent illness.
In a news release, the lottery winner stated: "My husband and I are fortunate enough - we are good. We do not need the money."
