The North Dakota Highway Patrol urged area residents Monday to be cautious of callers soliciting donations on its behalf.

The Highway Patrol has received several reports from residents who have been asked to donate money over the phone to aid state troopers, Col. Byran Klipfel said in a news release.

The Highway Patrol is not soliciting donations, Klipfel said.

The solicitations have been reported to the North Dakota Attorney General's office, he said.
