BISMARCK - The North Dakota National Guard recently earned national recognition for a documentary on its service across the state during spring 2009 flooding.

The documentary, "Guarded Waters," placed first in the Army-wide Visual Information Competition. It now moves on to the Department of Defense-level competition.

The production was a combined effort by the Air National Guard's 119th Public Affairs Office and the Army National Guard's Visual Information Department.

It recaps the three-month-long flood mission through interviews, b-roll footage, photos, statistics and news reports.
