ND Democrats release poll showing Heitkamp leads Berg in U.S. Senate race

A poll released by the North Dakota Democratic-NPL party shows Democratic candidate Heidi Heitkamp leading Rep. Rick Berg by six percentage points in the North Dakota U.S. Senate race, according to a release from the party.

A poll released by the North Dakota Democratic-NPL party shows Democratic candidate Heidi Heitkamp leading Rep. Rick Berg by six percentage points in the North Dakota U.S. Senate race, according to a release from the party.

DFM Research in St. Paul conducted the poll that shows Heitkamp leading Berg 50 to 44 percent.

"This poll shows again how deep of a hole Rep. Rick Berg has dug for himself by running from debates and hiding behind his false, negative ads, which have done nothing to raise his already low favorability in the state," said party spokeswoman Alison Kelly in a press release. "By voting the party line to end the guarantee of Medicare and raise costs for seniors by thousands, Rick Berg is setting himself up to be rejected by voters in November."

The poll was sponsored by the North Dakota Democratic-NPL party.

In July, National pollster Rasmussen Reports released a telephone survey that showed Berg in the lead, finding that 49 percent of respondents supported Berg, while 40 percent supported Heitkamp.
