FARGO -- Grand Forks legislator Corey Mock will be the Democratic-NPL Party's endorsed candidate for North Dakota secretary of state.
The party unanimously declared Mock as the party's candidate during the state convention today at the Fargo Civic Center.
"Elected office is for everyone - for the people that work tirelessly to represent their communities to the best of their ability," Mock said.
If elected, he vowed to bring leadership, transparency and innovation to the Secretary of State's office in Bismarck.
"I'd be honored to serve the people to update, rejuvenate and reinvigorate your state government," he said.

The 25-year-old Mock will challenge Republican incumbent Al Jaeger for the seat. Mock ran unopposed for the Democratic nomination.
Mock was elected to the North Dakota House in 2008 and represents District 42.
The Minot native serves as the director of the Third Street Clinic, a nonprofit organization that provides access to health care services for low-income residents of Grand Forks County in North Dakota and Polk County in Minnesota.
