FARGO - Troopers in the North Dakota Highway Patrol's southeast region issued 145 traffic tickets Wednesday and Thursday during a two-day emphasis on right of way violations.
Thirty-three of the tickets were for right of way violations, according to a news release Friday.
Troopers also arrested three drivers for driving under suspension and made one arrest for driving under the influence and one arrest for drug paraphernalia.
Right of way violations were a contributing factor in 21 of the state's 97 fatal traffic crashes last year and in four of the 31 fatal crashes so far this year, the release stated.
The southeast region is made up of 15 counties.
