UNDERWOOD, N.D.-An Underwood man accused of sexually assaulting a woman and threatening her with a gun was charged Monday in South Central District Court in McLeanCounty.
Brady Joel Blotske is facing felony counts of gross sexual imposition, felonious restraint and terrorizing. If convicted on the sex charge, he could receive life in prison. He is in custody at the McLean County Sheriff's Department.
On the afternoon of May 1, members of the sheriff's department met with the victim, who previously was in a relationship with Blotske and who shares custody of a child with him.
The woman told police that on April 30, she brought the child over to Blotske's home. She said she fell asleep on Blotske's couch at 9 p.m. but, between midnight and 5 a.m. on May 1, she was awakened by Blotske, who was angry about relationship issues.
She reported being punched, sexually assaulted and having a black 9 mm pistol put to her head.
"It was during this period that Brady said he was going to 'kill' her and then himself," according to the affidavit.
The woman said Blotske eventually let her and her children go free. After she contacted police, officers went to the home of Blotske's relative, who said that, at around 12:30 p.m. on May 1, Blotske came to his house saying he had made a big mistake.
Blotske later traveled to CHI St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, where he was detained in the hospital psych ward until police could pick him up.
