North Dakota State University (NDSU) awarded Jeremiah Program Fargo-Moorhead a $10,000 grant.
Through a partnership with NDSU faculty members Erika Berg and Ann Burnett, the grant was secured via NDSU's Community Projects Award program. It will be applied toward Jeremiah Program's Life Skills Course.
Life Skills Course is a free offering to single mothers with young children who aspire to earn their college degree. The course helps to prepare the women to succeed in all areas of their lives.
The grant from NDSU will be used to provide course participants with multiple equine-guided coaching sessions at NDSU's Equine Center and separate life coaching sessions during the fall 2012 and spring 2013 Life Skills Courses.
Jeremiah Program uses a proven, holistic approach that transforms families from poverty to prosperity two generations at a time. Jeremiah Program Fargo-Moorhead is in the start-up phase, with the site for community supportive housing and early childhood education under review.
