When Ryan and Rachel Stout arrived at their home, 53435 376th St., with their three children, they saw flames in their dining room, according to an Otter Tail County Sheriff's news release.

Ryan Stout threw water on the fire to knock it down, the release stated.

The fire was extinguished by the time the New York Mills Fire Department arrived. Firefighters assisted in clearing the house of smoke.

The house sustained minimal smoke and fire damage, and the family was still able to stay there, according to the release.
