Seth Nichols wasn't surprised by the passing numbers the East All-Stars compiled Saturday at the Fargodome.
The Dakota Prairie quarterback combined with North Border quarterback Tanner Carpenter to pass for 378 yards and four touchdowns. That aerial assault sparked the East to a 31-14 victory against the West in the North Dakota Shrine Bowl 9-man game.
"With me and Tanner we were going to throw it a lot and have some fun," said Nichols, who has signed to play at the University of North Dakota. "That's our style. ... Throwing the football is what we do."
Nichols completed 11 of 16 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns. Carpenter hit on 8 of 10 passes and also tossed two touchdowns.
