The Mahnomen County (Minn.) Sheriff's Office said charges aren't expected in connection with the death Saturday of a 31-year-old Sartell, Minn., man.

The Mahnomen County (Minn.) Sheriff's Office said charges aren't expected in connection with the death Saturday of a 31-year-old Sartell, Minn., man.

In a news release, Sheriff Doug Krier said an investigation found Eibensteiner was riding his snowmobile behind Gregory Else, 30, of West Fargo, when Else struck a large snow ridge near South Twin Lake.

Else tried to warn the snowmobiles behind him, but Eibensteiner struck the snow ridge and was thrown. Eibensteiner's snowmobile became airborne and struck Else and his snowmobile.

An autopsy revealed Eibensteiner died of a ruptured aorta from blunt-force trauma, Krier said.

At the scene, Else was reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.

Speed, darkness and unfamiliarity with the lake are considered contributing factors to the accident, the release states. Alcohol was previously ruled out as a contributing factor.
