BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota's recently revised comprehensive historic preservation plan is now available online.
The State Historical Society has posted the 44-page plan on its website.
Periodic updating of the plan is a federal requirement for North Dakota's participation in the National Historic Preservation program sponsored by the National Park Service.
The program brings between $500,000 and $600,000 each year into the state to fund efforts ranging from building restorations to National Register of Historic Places registrations.
The plan's contents were guided by comments gathered from preservation professionals, state and community leaders, owners of historic properties, and the general public during a series of meetings the past three years. Additional information was gathered from mail-in questionnaires.
