The final group of North Dakota National Guard soldiers to serve in the Kosovo mission will depart from four North Dakota airports Saturday.
Seven soldiers will fly out of Fargo Hector International Airport at 5 a.m. Saturday, followed by four soldiers who will depart at 10:55 a.m.
Twenty-one National Guard soldiers also will depart from Grand Forks, Minot and Bismarck airports that morning.
The soldiers will be stationed in Pristina, Kosovo, and Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. They will serve separately from the main North Dakota National Guard KFOR-12 element that departed in August. KFOR is an international Kosovo Force rotation task force of soldiers, which includes 700 North Dakotans.
The latest group of soldiers will be assigned to NATO headquarters as part of the Kosovo-wide multinational operations responsible for logistical operations in support of KFOR, according to a news release.
