Oak Grove Lutheran School has hired a new middle and high school principal to replace longtime administrator Morgan Forness.

Beverly Bjertness will begin her role at the north Fargo school on July 12.

She's a veteran educator and her husband, Pastor Corey Bjertness, has served on Oak Grove's Board of Regents in the past.

"It is an honor and privilege to be selected the next middle and high school principal of Oak Grove Lutheran School," Bjertness said in a prepared statement issued this afternoon. "We are looking forward as a family to our time at Oak Grove."

She has degrees from St. Cloud State University, Bethel University, Valley City State University and Trinity Lutheran College.

Bjertness has been an elementary, middle and high school teacher in North Dakota, Minnesota and Washington schools. She most recently worked in the New London Spicer School District in New London, Minn.

She and her husband and their four children will move to the area this summer.

After nearly 20 years at the school, Forness announced his resignation in April to work as the head administrator at Shiloh Christian School, a private school in Bismarck.
