An early morning fire in Oakport Township on Saturday destroyed the home of a family of four.
Firefighters responded to a blaze at 1012 63rd Ave. N. shortly after 5:10 a.m., Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist said. No one was injured. Names of those living in the home were not immediately available.
The home suffered significant damage, but the family should be able to recover some personal items, Bergquist said. He said the cause of the fire is under investigation although faulty wiring could have been a factor.
The American Red Cross offered assistance to the family, Bergquist said.
