Officers win honors for tickets

The Red River Valley Safe Communities Coalition on Tuesday honored area law enforcement officers with the highest number of DUI/DWI arrests, seat belt citations, child restraint citations and citations for minor consuming alcohol.

The Red River Valley Safe Communities Coalition on Tuesday honored area law enforcement officers with the highest number of DUI/DWI arrests, seat belt citations, child restraint citations and citations for minor consuming alcohol.

Officers honored and number of citations were:

DUI/DWI: Cass County Sheriff's Deputy Mike Wedin, 33; Clay County Sheriff's Deputy Ryan Carey, 15; Minnesota State Patrol Trooper Rodney Eischens, 24; North Dakota Highway Patrol Troopers Matt Brown and Dave Wolf, 16 each; Fargo Police Officer Kyle Olson, 92; Moorhead Police Officer Ryan Nelson, 36; West Fargo Police Officer Pete Nielsen, 46; and Dilworth Police Officer Mike Rapp, 50.

Seat belts: Cass County Sheriff's Deputy Bruce Renshaw, 287; Clay County Sheriff's Deputy Scott Steffes, 22; Minnesota State Patrol Trooper Lonnie Wambach, 184; North Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper Matt Brown, 174; Fargo Police Officer Kyle Olson, 98; Moorhead Police Officer Brad Stuvland, not available; West Fargo Police Officer Jason Anderson, 127.

Child restraint: Cass County Sheriff's Deputy Bruce Renshaw, 23; Minnesota State Patrol Trooper Jeff Pinoneimi, 8; North Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper Dave Wolf, 13; Fargo Police Officer Jessica Homan, 30; Moorhead Police Officer Ryan Nelson, not available; and West Fargo police officers Jason Anderson and Al Schmidt, 8 each.
