New developments regarding the Wahpeton, N.D., Imation plant, scheduled to close in 2009, will be outlined during a 1:30 p.m. Friday press conference at Wahpeton City Hall.
"There is a development where part of the facility is going to be occupied," Don Canton, spokesman for North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven, said late Thursday.
"It's a good development. It's a step forward. There's still more work to be done," Canton said.
In May, Imation Corp. of Oakdale, Minn., announced that it would close the plant which produces magnetic floppy diskettes in mid-2009, putting 375 people out of work.
Hoeven, Wahpeton Mayor Jim Sturdevant, and other state and local officials are expected to attend the news conference.
