FARGO – One man is hospitalized and two others are behind bars following a fight that ended with a beer can to someone's face at an apartment in south Fargo, police said Tuesday.
Fargo police Sgt. Chris Nichtern said police were called about 10:50 p.m. Monday to a disturbance involving a machete in the 1300 block of Third Avenue South.
When they arrived, they found that an argument had erupted between a group of three friends and the person whose apartment they were visiting.
A man and a woman had begun to argue and a second man got involved, Nichtern said. The first man hit the other man in the face with a full can of beer.
The resident of the apartment had picked up a machete and kicked the group out of the apartment, and put up some resistance to police when they arrived, Nichtern said.

The resident, William Owens, was arrested on suspicion of resisting, and one of the guests, Michael Cox, 27, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault.
The victim was transported to the hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.
