PELICAN RAPIDS, Minn. - The Minnesota State Patrol has released the name of an 18-year-old man who was killed when the car he was driving crashed head-on into a semitrailer Thursday morning in Otter Tail County.
Zachary Zetter of Pelican Rapids was not wearing his seat belt when the crash occurred just after 6:30 a.m. on Highway 108 at Cross Point Road near Lake Lida, about four miles east of Pelican Rapids, the patrol said in a news release.
Zetter was traveling east in a 2003 Ford Mustang when it crossed the centerline and was hit by the oncoming grain-hauler semi, which was empty, the patrol said.
Zetter was trapped in the vehicle and died at the scene, the patrol said. The semi's driver was not injured.
Ringdahl Ambulance and the Pelican Rapids Fire Department assisted at the scene.
