JAMESTOWN, N.D. - A Jamestown man on foot was hit by an SUV and killed on Interstate 94 here Saturday night, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The patrol said Gary Dobier, 55, of Mandan was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban eastbound on I-94 through Jamestown on Saturday en route to Dilworth. At about 10:08 p.m., Bradley Myhre, 39, Jamestown, walked from the median into the left-hand eastbound lane east of exit 258 in Jamestown in front of Dobier. The Suburban hit Myhre, killing him.

The Jamestown Police Department had received a call about a man waving at traffic on I-94 just before the crash occurred and was already en route to the scene when the man was hit.

The Suburban sustained moderate damage to its front end, the patrol said. Dobier was wearing his seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation.
