People Escaping Poverty Project has won the 2002 Headwaters Allies for Justice Award for its long-term commitment to social justice, constituent leadership and alliance building in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
PEPP representatives will accept the award at a dinner at the McNamara Alumni Center in Minneapolis today. Danny Glover, activist and actor, will speak at the dinner.
PEPP is a grassroots organization that works on issues of economic justice and provides leadership in addressing civil rights for low-income people.
The organization will receive a $10,000 grant from the Headwaters Fund in July.
