Pickup smashes through building

A pickup driver turned a north Fargo business into a drive-through Tuesday night, then drove away.

Police caught up with him a few minutes later.

Sgt. Dean Mueller identified the man as 39-year-old Carey A. Nylan of Fargo.

Mueller said the man headed straight for the east door and window of United Power Equipment, 715 25th St. N.

The man then drove through the showroom and out the west window and headed west.

Before he drove through the building, the man was sitting in a parking lot about

100 yards from United Power Equipment, Mueller said.

Witnesses who saw the man take off gave police a description of the pickup and the direction he was headed.

Officers found him stopped at 38th Street and Seventh Avenue North.

Police arrested the man on charges of criminal mischief, DUI and driving while his license was suspended.
