Churches United for the Homeless will dedicate its new play set at 10:30 a.m. today at the Moorhead homeless shelter, 1901 1st Ave. N.
Members of seven Fargo-Moorhead Kiwanis clubs joined to provide play set equipment for the shelter's children, with additional financial support from two Wal-Mart stores and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
Stenerson Lumber, Hoglund Landscape, Backyard Adventures and Cook Sign also contributed to the project, valued at more than $5,000.
Around 12 to 15 children stay at the shelter on an average week, said Gary Groberg, the shelter's executive director.
