A shopper found more than just a bargain at West Acres mall on Black Friday, Fargo police say.

The man was walking to his car in the mall parking lot about 9:50 a.m. when he used a remote to start the engine and unlock the doors. He got inside and was startled to find an 18-year-old male inside the car, Sgt. Mark Lykken said.

The man confronted the teen, who got out and fled the scene. The victim and mall security staff later found the teen in the food court and called police.

Buddy O'Brien Wallace, 18, of Fargo, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle. A subsequent search found a BB pistol in his waistband, and police will recommend he be charged with carrying a concealed weapon, Lykken said.
