BELFIELD, N.D. -- Police arrested two women on charges of solicitation of prostitution Wednesday in Belfield in southwest North Dakota.
Belfield police Sgt. Travis Carlson said during a traffic stop, the officer found "evidence ... to believe they are engaging in solicitation of prostitution." The car was stopped on U.S. Highway 85 near Trapper's Kettle about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Carlson said it's the department's first arrest of the year for prostitution, and that generally it is one of the rarer crimes police see there.
