MOORHEAD - A 25-mile police pursuit with speeds exceeding 100 mph ended here near the First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday night, Sept. 20, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The pursuit started about 7:30 p.m. in Barnesville, Minn., after troopers on Interstate 94 tried to pull over a driver with a drug-related warrant for his arrest, the patrol said.
The vehicle fled and went west on Clay County Road 2. The vehicle then proceeded northbound from Comstock on Highway 75, leading law enforcement officers on a pursuit into south Moorhead, the patrol said.
Officers used tire disabling devices and a pursuit intervention technique. The vehicle was disabled near the south Moorhead church. The male driver fled on foot, but was apprehended moments later, the patrol said.
The driver and female passenger, whose names were not immediately released, were both booked into the Clay County Jail for active warrants. The driver is facing other charges pending further investigation, the patrol said.
