Coordinated police raids in eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota Tuesday netted 170 high-grade marijuana plants and 18 guns, according to the Nelson County Sheriff's Department in North Dakota.

Four search warrants -- one issued near Lakota, N.D., and three in Grant County, Minn. -- led authorities to hydroponic marijuana plants, which can yield up to $4,000 per pound, officials said.

The raid near Lakota turned up 100 of the 170 plants found. The remaining marijuana was at two of three searched west-central Minnesota sites. Lakota is 60 miles west of Grand Forks in Nelson County.

Local, state and federal agents, including some from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, conducted the raids.

Minnesota's Grant County Sheriff's Department found the weapons and marijuana at a location in Pelican Lake Township, the release said.

At least three suspects could face charges from the raids. Authorities would not release their names Wednesday.

The incident will be handled by the U.S. attorney's office in Fargo.
