FARGO – A Fargo man is in custody on suspicion of reckless endangerment after allegedly threatening a fellow Wal-Mart shopper with a chain and rod, then backing his car into him in the store parking lot.

Fargo police Sgt. Kevin Pallas said Michael Thomas Okins, 26, pulled into the south Fargo Wal-Mart lot at 10:52 p.m. Friday and began to argue with a group of people there.
Okins then pulled a heavy metal post with a chain attached to it, upon which another man there pulled a tire iron from his vehicle, Pallas said.
Both men put their weapons away, but when Okins got back into his vehicle, he backed into the group, hitting the other man with his truck.
Okins fled the scene, but one of the people followed him down the interstate and got his license plate, allowing police to trace him to his home and arrest him about an hour and 20 minutes later, Pallas said.
The victim was knocked down, but his injuries weren’t life-threatening, Pallas said.
