NEW BRIGHTON, Minn. -- Police have shot and wounded a suspect while trying to serve a narcotics search warrant in the eastern Twin Cities.
Members of the Ramsey County Violent Crime Enforcement Team were serving the warrant about 2 p.m. Tuesday at a home in New Brighton.
Authorities say a struggle broke out and the suspect was shot. He was taken to HCMC, where he is in stable condition after undergoing surgery for gunshot wounds.
No officers were hurt.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension will investigate the shooting.

The Ramsey County Violent Crime Enforcement Team includes officers from the St. Paul, Roseville, Maplewood, White Bear Lake and New Brighton police departments and deputies from the Ramsey County sheriff's office.
