Police youth academy starts Oct. 7 in WF

WEST FARGO - The West Fargo Police Department is taking applications for its youth academy.

The academy is for youth in grades nine through 12 who are interested in law enforcement as a career. Topics and activities include: drug enforcement, K9, SWAT (special weapons and tactics team), traffic stops, firearms, crime scenes and ride-alongs.

Classes are held Sunday evenings, two times a month. They begin Oct. 7.

There is no cost, though the class size is limited.
