Rep. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., welcomed the decision Monday by the Environmental Protection Agency to delay its plan to regulate greenhouse gases but said the plan should be scrapped permanently.
"The best way to make sure this is done right is to back off their plan altogether and let Congress write the rules of the road for greenhouse gases," Pomeroy said in a statement.
"Imposing these new regulations on our energy industry using the Clean Air Act is not the way to go," Pomeroy added. "We could lose jobs, and consumers could see big increases on their energy bills."
Pomeroy said he would keep pushing to stop the process if the Obama administration won't.
