PETERSBURG, N.D. -- Minnkota Power Cooperative says construction is under way on its second wind turbine project in North Dakota.
A service road is being built to the site near Petersburg this week, spokesman Mike Nisbet said. Tower construction is slated to begin next week.
The turbine is expected to be operating by late July. Power generated at the site will be used by Grand Forks Air Force Base.
Nisbet said the company's other wind turbine, near Valley City, is exceeding expectations.
