CableOne customers in the Fargo-Moorhead area were without service for about an hour Wednesday after a power outage.
At about 10 a.m. Xcel Energy had a power outage that affected the CableOne office location at 1024 Page Drive.
When CableOne's building lost power a standby generator began supplying a backup power source. At about 10:45 a.m. a power surge damaged a relay in CableOne's standby power system that caused customers to lose television and Internet service. Xcel Energy said a faulty power cable caused the power outage.
Service was restored at about 11:50 a.m. All 42,000 customers were affected by this outage.
