A press exploded Friday night inside Minn-Dak Yeast Co. in Wahpeton, N.D., sending debris flying and injuring two workers, Richland County authorities said.
The press exploded about 9:54 p.m. at the plant, located at 18175 Red River Road W., according to a news release.
One employee was trapped under debris but was freed before emergency responders arrived, the release said.
Two people were taken to St. Francis Hospital and treated for unknown injuries, the release said.
The company was formed in 1989 by Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative and produces crumbled and cream yeast that is sold under the Dakota Bakers Yeast brand, according to its Web site.
