Profs to give input on nomination reforms

Two North Dakota State University assistant professors of political science will participate in a conference on presidential nomination reforms scheduled for 2004.

Two North Dakota State University assistant professors of political science will participate in a conference on presidential nomination reforms scheduled for 2004.

Research by Valerie R. O'Regan and Stephen J. Stambough focuses on the impact of reforms spearheaded by Sen. George McGovern that changed how presidential candidates are selected.

Representatives from both political parties, media personalities and scholars have been invited to participate in the conference, which is scheduled to be televised on

C-SPAN.

The NDSU professors also will contribute research to a book commemorating the opening of the George McGovern Library and Center for Public Service. The book will be published by the South Dakota Historical Society Press and the South Dakota Humanities Council.
