Matthew Pueppke of Amenia, N.D., earned a spot on the USA National Junior Pistol Team after placing second overall in the recent International Air Pistol Matches.
The 18-year-old Pueppke has been competing in Junior Olympic style rifle events for the last 10 years and started shooting pistol in competition at age 14.
In an awards ceremony held last Friday at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Pueppke was presented with the red, white and blue USA team jacket and welcomed to the elite National Junior Pistol Team.
