Radio company sues former manager

A company operating six radio stations in the Fargo-Moorhead market has filed a lawsuit against its former market manager after she left to work for its main competitor.

A company operating six radio stations in the Fargo-Moorhead market has filed a lawsuit against its former market manager after she left to work for its main competitor.

Go Radio Broadcasting, a subsidiary of California-based Triad Broadcasting LLC, claims Nancy Odney's departure Jan. 19 could lead to the loss of contracts, sales, profits and employees to Radio Fargo-Moorhead Inc.

Odney took over as chief operating officer for Radio Fargo-Moorhead, which took over management of six area stations when Jim Ingstad purchased them from Clear Channel Communications.

Sarah Herman, a Fargo attorney, denied any allegations of wrongdoing by Odney.

"I've reviewed the complaint and there's no merit to it, either factually or legally," Herman said today.

Odney worked for Ingstad from 1983 to 1999, when Ingstad sold radio stations to Triad Broadcasting so he could several other stations, including KFGO AM 790.
