Raising awareness inside the box

Participants in the second annual Homeless and Hungry event are collecting monetary and nonperishable food donations for local shelters.

Participants are planning to fast for 30 hours and sleep in cardboard boxes to raise awareness of homelessness.

More than 200 people from

28 different churches and every Fargo-Moorhead high school are slated to participate. Last year's event raised $51,000 and collected 3,500 pounds of nonperishable food items, according to organizers. Raising awareness inside the box 20071007
