FARGO - The U.S. Coast Guard issued a safety advisory Saturday prohibiting recreational boat traffic on the Red River along the entire river corridor in North Dakota due to dangerous flood conditions and sensitivity of levees protecting properties along the river.
The advisory encompasses the counties of Richland, Cass, Traill, Grand Forks, Walsh and Pembina.
Violations can result in federal penalties.
