WEST FARGO - With the Red River Valley Fair opening Friday in West Fargo, motorists are being urged to use specific routes to reach the fairgrounds due to reconstruction of Main Avenue.

The Main Avenue reconstruction in West Fargo has reduced traffic to one lane in each direction through the work zone, which extends from Sixth Street West and Fifth Street East.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation advises motorists to take one of the following routes:

- From Interstate 94: Exit at #343, go one-half east on Main Avenue, then a quarter mile south on County Road 28.

- From North Fargo: Take 12th Avenue North to Cass County Road 19, go south on Cass County Road 19 to Main Avenue, turn west on Main Avenue to County Road 28, and then south one quarter mile to the fairgrounds.
