Red River Valley SWAT to train downtown Dec. 5, 6

FARGO — The Fargo Police Department is notifying the public that the Red River Valley SWAT team will be conducting routine training at the old city hall, 200 3rd St. N. in downtown Fargo.

The exercises will take place from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 and from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6. The training will consist of explosive breaching, which will cause a loud noise when deployed.

According to SWAT Commander Lt. William Ahlfeldt, training in the unoccupied city hall building will provide a unique opportunity for a large-scale training scenario.
