WAHPETON, N.D. - A crash in southeastern North Dakota's Richland County has killed a man and a woman.
Sheriff Larry Leshovsky said a minivan went off a county road, hit a tree and went into the Wild Rice River between Colfax and Abercrombie.
The crash was reported just before 7 a.m. Thursday and is believed to have happened overnight.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reported both victims were 49. The driver failed to negotiate a turn in the road.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle, while the passenger remained inside. Neither was wearing a seat belt, the Highway Patrol said in a news release.
