Attorneys for Alfonso Rodriguez Jr. have been granted more time to file their appeal brief to the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. It is their third extension.
Rodriguez was sentenced to death last year for the 2003 kidnapping and killing of University of North Dakota student Dru Sjodin.
The appellate court has moved the brief deadline to Jan. 3. The original due date of Sept. 7 had been continued twice before.
