An early morning fight between roommates Tuesday resulted in an attempted murder charge for one and a simple assault charge for the other, Fargo police said.

Police Lt. Tod Dahle said officers were called at 1:07 a.m. to a loud party at 317 11th St. N.

Officers heard the sound of a fight in the kitchen, kicked in a door and found the home's two occupants, Silas Poitra, 34, and Richard Thibert, 39, fighting.

Both men had blood on them, and officers ordered them to lie on the ground. Before complying, Thibert kicked Poitra in the head, Dahle said.

Officers then discovered that Thibert had been stabbed twice in the shoulder.
