FARGO — Sanford Health’s charitable organization is set to hold a 24-hour online fundraiser to cover expenses for patients battling cancer.

The Sanford Health Foundation will hold the “ Change In 24 ” giving event Thursday, Dec. 13, to raise funds for patients at the healthcare provider’s Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo. The event will run from 12:01 a.m. to midnight.

All of the money raised will go directly to patients pay for travel expenses such as gas and lodging, the foundation said.

"It makes a big difference for them because it means to them they don't have to worry about that,” said foundation development officer Colleen Hardy. “It's one less worry on their mind, and it feels good for them as well."

This is the third year Sanford has held the fundraiser. This year they aim to raise $20,000. Dawson Insurance will match all donations.
