Allison Schmidt, a senior at Concordia College, was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship.

Schmidt received the scholarship for an English teaching assistantship in Germany. An English literature, history and German major, Schmidt spent her junior year studying in Jena, Germany. She is the daughter of Helmut and Lori Schmidt of Fargo.

The Fulbright program, America's international educational exchange program, is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Recipients of Fulbright awards are selected on the basis of academic or professional achievement, as well as demonstration of leadership potential in their fields.
