GLYNDON, Minn. - A search for a crashed hot air balloon near here Friday night ended when the pilot called from home to say there was no crash.

Authorities responded after a call to dispatch around 8:30 p.m. reported that a hot air balloon landed in some trees just east of 3125 145th St. S., near the Buffalo River State Park near the Nature Conservancy Park.

Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist said the pilot called him after he saw an inforum.com report that rescuers were responding to the area.

The pilot had safely landed the balloon in that area earlier.
