FARGO - Saturday will mark 17 years since Kevin Gerald Mahoney of Fargo disappeared, and police say they continue to actively investigate the case.
Mahoney was last seen Oct. 2, 1993, after walking out of a friend's north Fargo home and heading toward his brother's south Moorhead apartment.
His brother wasn't home, and it's unclear if Mahoney ever made it there.
Family members haven't heard from Mahoney since then, and the case remains one of the Fargo Police Department's few unsolved missing person cases.
The circumstances sur-rounding the case are suspicious, and police believe foul play is a possi-bility, Sgt. Mark Lykken said.

A new investigator was assigned to the case within the past year, Lykken said.
"We have conducted a few interviews and we still have some things that we're looking at right now as we speak," he said.
Mahoney was described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 165 pounds with long blondish-brown hair. He'd be 42 years old now.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Fargo police at (701) 241-1405.
