Second man killed in beet truck crash near Felton identified

FELTON, Minn. - Authorities on Thursday released the name of a Borup man killed along with his passenger in a crash with a sugar beet truck on a road north of here.

FELTON, Minn. - Authorities on Thursday released the name of a Borup man killed along with his passenger in a crash with a sugar beet truck on a road north of here.

Ricardo Gutierrez, 23, was driving south on Highway 9 on Monday when his Dodge Dakota crossed over the center line and hit an oncoming sugar beet truck, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

His passenger, 33-year-old Federico Hernandez of Borup, was also killed in the crash.

The driver of the sugar beet truck, Patrick Moran, 55, of Waubun, was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
