Semi-car crash results in injuries near Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.D. - Authorities and ambulance crews were responding to an injury accident reported shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 94 southeast of here.

BUFFALO, N.D. - Authorities and ambulance crews were responding to an injury accident reported shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 94 southeast of here.

A semitrailer reportedly struck a car, and as many as three semis may have been involved in the crash, according to dispatch reports.

Two people needed to be extricated from their vehicle. One was unconscious but breathing, while the other's status was unknown, dispatchers said.

Lifeflight helicopter was dispatched to the scene but was unable to go because of weather conditions, which were foggy and misty at the time.

Authorities reported slippery road conditions as the temperature dropped below freezing. It was 31 degrees in Fargo at about 11 p.m.

Cpl. Tony Krogh of the Cass County Sheriff's Office said about 15 vehicles were reported to have hit the ditch in the county between 8 and 11 p.m. Saturday.

"The roads are horrible right now," he said.
